Voice on Pinterest

Do — write for search, design for save

  • Pin titles are SEO. Lead with the keyword: "Questions to ask your mum", not "A list we made."
  • Vertical 2:3 always. Type heavy. Cream backgrounds outperform photos for save rate, in our category.
  • Every pin links to a real article on lifescribe.ai. No deadends. No vault-only links.
  • Refresh covers seasonally. Holiday boards (Mother's Day, Christmas) get pinned 6 weeks ahead.
  • Use Rich Pins (Article + Product). Verify the domain so they activate.

Don't — treat it like Instagram

  • No square 1:1 pins. They get half the impressions of 2:3.
  • No promotional copy on the pin itself. Pinterest hates ads-that-look-like-pins.
  • Don't auto-cross-post Instagram. Tone is wrong, ratios are wrong, watermarks are visible.
  • Don't follow-back loop, don't engagement-pod. Pinterest's algorithm is content-first; gaming it backfires.

Cadence & engagement

Pins / week
15–25 fresh pins per week. Pinterest rewards consistency over volume — 5/day every weekday beats 25 in one Sunday burst.
Best windows
8:00–11:00pm AEST. Pinterest peaks Sunday evening + Tuesday/Wednesday lunch in target geos.
Mix
50% listicle pins · 20% article pins · 15% idea pins · 10% story spotlights · 5% promoted/conversion.
Boards
8–12 boards. One per evergreen keyword + one seasonal. Re-pin own pins to multiple relevant boards (allowed, not punished).
Promoted Pins
Low budget (AU$10–20/day per pin) on the top 3 evergreen pins. Optimise for outbound clicks. Audience: women 35–65, US/AU/UK/CA, parent + memory-keeping interests.
Refresh
Top 10 pins get a redesigned cover every 6 months — same link, same article, fresh visual. This is how you keep evergreen pins evergreen.

How to implement

Claim the handle & verify the domain

Register @lifescribeai as a Business account. Verify lifescribe.ai via DNS or HTML tag — this unlocks Rich Pins + analytics + ads. Day-one task.

Enable Rich Pins

Add Article + Product Open Graph tags to lifescribe.ai. Submit one URL to the Rich Pin validator. Once accepted, every pin from the domain auto-pulls title, description, author, and a darker presentation that out-clicks plain pins by 2×.

Build the 2:3 pin template

Master Figma file with 5 templates (listicle, article, photo-overlay, board cover, seasonal). Playfair display headlines, gold rule, brand mark in the foot. Cream is the default — only photo-overlay variants on dark.

Seed 8 boards

Use the names in section 01: Questions to ask your parents, Family memory keeping, Journaling alternatives, Legacy projects, Holiday conversation prompts, Personal storytelling, Voice journaling, Story spotlights. Each board gets a 200-character keyword-rich description.

Pre-load 60 pins (3 weeks)

Build 20 listicle pins, 15 article pins, 15 photo-overlay pins, 10 misc. Schedule 4–5 per day across boards using Pinterest's native scheduler or Tailwind. Don't hand-pin daily — burnout kills the channel.

Pin the 6-week seasonal calendar

Mother's Day (May), Father's Day (Sep AU / Jun US), Christmas (Dec), Mother's birthday season — start pinning 6 weeks before. Pinterest plans early.

Set up Promoted Pins

After 30 days organic, identify top 3 by save-rate. Promote with AU$10–20/day each, optimised for outbound clicks. Audience from section 06.

Track signal, not vanity

Metrics that matter: outbound clicks per pin, save rate, top of search for target keywords, signups attributed to Pinterest in GA. Impressions are vanity. Pinterest rewards the long tail — don't judge a pin's life under 90 days.
