1. Acceptance and Agreement

By accessing, browsing, or using the LifeScribe platform (including www.trylifescribe.com and the LifeScribe mobile application, collectively the "Platform"), you agree to be bound by this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use immediately.

Your continued use of the Platform constitutes ongoing acceptance of this Privacy Policy and future modifications.

The LifeScribe mobile application is distributed via the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store. This Privacy Policy applies to all versions of the Platform regardless of distribution channel or device operating system.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide Directly

The Platform collects information you voluntarily provide, including:

• Account registration information (name, email address, date of birth, profile information)
• Voice recordings, audio files, photographs, and other media content
• Written stories, memoirs, narratives, and other textual content
• Family member information and collaboration data
• Payment and billing information (processed via Apple In-App Purchase on iOS and Google Play Billing on Android — LifeScribe does not store credit card numbers)
• Communications with support and customer service

2.2 Automatically Collected Information

• Device information (device type, operating system, unique device identifiers, Android Advertising ID, iOS IDFA where consented)
• Usage data (features accessed, time spent, navigation paths)
• Log data (access times, pages viewed, error reports)
• Performance and diagnostic data
• Analytics data via Google Analytics 4 (GA4)
• Meta Pixel analytics (Pixel ID: 1448852319935659) for advertising measurement
• Crash reporting data (for app stability improvement)

2.3 Information from Third-Party Sources

The Platform may receive information from Firebase Auth (authentication) and payment processors (Apple In-App Purchase, Google Play Billing) in the ordinary course of operations.

3. How We Use Your Information

• Provide, maintain, and improve Platform services and features
• Process transactions and manage user accounts
• Power AI-based content transformation, story creation, illustration generation, and voice cloning using third-party AI services described in Section 4A
• Personalize user experience and deliver customized content
• Communicate with users regarding accounts, services, and updates
• Analyze anonymized usage patterns and Platform performance
• Enforce terms of service and detect fraud or security threats
• Comply with legal obligations

4. Information Sharing and Disclosure

4.1 Service Providers

The Platform shares user information with service providers who assist in Platform operations. These providers are contractually restricted to using your information only for providing services to LifeScribe.

4.2 Third-Party AI Service Providers

As described in Section 4A below, certain user content is transmitted to third-party AI providers to power specific in-app features. By creating an account and using the Platform, you consent to this processing. Data is transmitted only when you use those features and is used solely to fulfill that feature's function.

4.3 Business Transfers

In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, user information may be transferred to a successor entity. We will provide notice of any such transfer that materially affects your rights.

4.4 Legal and Safety Requirements

The Platform may disclose information when required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of the Platform, users, or the public.

4.5 Aggregate and De-Identified Information

The Platform may share aggregate or anonymized information for research, analytics, and product improvement. Such information cannot reasonably be used to identify you.

4.6 No Sale of Personal Information

LifeScribe does not sell your personal information to third parties for monetary consideration.

4A. Third-Party Artificial Intelligence Services

LifeScribe is an AI-powered platform. By creating an account and using the Platform, you consent to the transmission of the content types listed below to the specified AI providers. This consent is given at account creation and applies to all uses of those features.

Data Security with AI Providers

All data transmitted to AI providers is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.2 or higher. We contractually restrict AI providers from using your personal data to train their own models beyond what is necessary to provide the service to LifeScribe. We do not share your name or contact information with AI providers — only the content required to fulfill the specific feature.

Voice Cloning Data

Voice recordings used for voice cloning are transmitted to Resemble AI to create a personalized voice model stored in your account. This model is retained while your account is active and is permanently deleted within 30 days of account deletion. See our Data Storage Policy for details.

5. Data Retention

• Active accounts: Data retained while account is active
• Free accounts after inactivity: Minimum 2 years after last activity
• Paid accounts after cancellation: 90 days post-subscription, then deleted upon request
• Voice clone models: Deleted within 30 days of account deletion request
• Anonymized/aggregated data: May be retained indefinitely for product improvement

6. Your Rights and Choices

6.1 Access and Correction

Request access to or correction of your personal information by contacting hello@trylifescribe.com. We respond within legally required timeframes.

6.2 Account and Data Deletion

You may request permanent deletion of your account and all associated personal data through any of the following methods:

• In-App Deletion (Recommended): Navigate to Settings within the LifeScribe app and select "Delete Account." Follow the on-screen instructions to initiate the deletion process.
• Web-Based Deletion Request: Visit trylifescribe.com/delete-account to request deletion from any web browser, even if you no longer have the app installed.
• Email Request: Send a deletion request from your registered email address to hello@trylifescribe.com.

Deletion Process and Grace Period

Upon receiving your account deletion request, LifeScribe initiates a 7-day grace period during which you may cancel the request. You will receive a confirmation email when the request is received and a second confirmation when deletion is complete. After the grace period expires, your account and personal data will be permanently and irreversibly deleted.

Data Deleted Upon Account Deletion

The following table details the categories of data that are deleted when you request account deletion, along with the applicable timeline:

Data Retention Exceptions: Certain data may be retained after deletion as required by applicable law (e.g., financial and tax records for up to 7 years). Data that persists in encrypted disaster recovery backups is access-controlled, not used for any processing, and is purged in the event of any data restoration. See our Data Storage Policy for details.

6.3 Data Portability and Export

You may request a portable copy of your personal data by using the Data Export feature in the app's Settings menu or by contacting hello@trylifescribe.com. Upon request, LifeScribe will provide your data in a commonly used, machine-readable format within 30 days. You will receive an email with a secure download link when your export is ready. Download links expire within 48 hours for security purposes.

6.4 Marketing Communications

Opt out of promotional emails using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email. This does not apply to transactional or service communications.

7. State-Specific Rights

7.1 California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)

California residents have the right to: know what personal information is collected; delete personal information (subject to exceptions); correct inaccurate information; opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (LifeScribe does not sell personal information); and non-discrimination for exercising these rights. Contact hello@trylifescribe.com. LifeScribe will respond within 45 days.

7.2 Florida Residents (Florida Digital Bill of Rights)

Florida residents may confirm, access, correct, delete, and request portability of their personal data. Contact hello@trylifescribe.com. LifeScribe will respond within 45 days.

8. Children's Privacy

The Platform is not intended for children under the age of 13 (or 16 in certain jurisdictions). LifeScribe does not knowingly collect information from children under the applicable age. If we become aware that a child under the applicable age has provided personal information, we will take steps to delete such information promptly.

9. Security

LifeScribe implements TLS 1.2+ encryption in transit, AES-256 encryption at rest, AWS-managed infrastructure with security group controls, and access controls limiting data access to authorized personnel.

10. Google Play Data Safety Disclosure

In accordance with Google Play's Data Safety requirements, LifeScribe provides the following disclosures for users who download the app from the Google Play Store. These disclosures are consistent with the Data Safety section displayed on the LifeScribe Google Play listing:

• Data Collected: LifeScribe collects personal information (name, email), photos, audio files, user-generated content, app activity data, crash logs, diagnostics, and device identifiers as detailed in Section 2.
• Data Shared with Third Parties: User content is shared with AI service providers (xAI, Resemble AI, AWS, Google Firebase) solely to power in-app features, as detailed in Section 4A. Email addresses are shared with our email delivery provider (Brevo) for transactional communications. No personal data is sold.
• Data Encryption: All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest (AES-256).
• Account & Data Deletion: Users may request account and data deletion through the in-app Settings menu, via the web at trylifescribe.com/delete-account, or by emailing hello@trylifescribe.com. Deletion is completed after a 7-day grace period.
• Data Handling Practices: LifeScribe's data practices comply with Google Play's User Data policy, including the Account Deletion Requirement. All data declarations in the Google Play Data Safety section accurately reflect the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

LifeScribe may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes via email or in-app notification. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this document reflects the most recent revision.
