1. Introduction

This Data Storage Policy describes how LifeScribe AI Technologies Holdings LLC ("LifeScribe") stores, retains, and manages data collected through our Platform.

Incorporated by reference into our Terms of Service (https://trylifescribe.com/policies/terms-of-service.html) and Privacy Policy (https://trylifescribe.com/policies/privacy-policy.html).

LifeScribe is committed to responsible, transparent data stewardship. We store your data to provide services and improve the Platform — not to exploit or sell your personal information.

2. Data We Store

2.1 User Content

• Stories, narratives, and chapter text
• Voice recordings and audio files
• Photographs and uploaded media
• AI-generated content (illustrations, transformed narratives, voice clone models)
• Metadata and timestamps

2.2 Account Data

• Profile information (name, email, preferences)
• Subscription status and billing history (payment instruments handled by Apple)
• Family Vault membership and sharing configurations
• Settings and accessibility preferences

2.3 Usage and Analytics Data

• Feature usage patterns and session data
• Performance and diagnostic logs
• Anonymized analytics via Google Analytics 4
• Meta Pixel conversion events for advertising measurement

2.4 AI Processing Data

• Transcribed text generated from your voice recordings
• AI-generated story chapters and illustrations linked to your account
• Voice clone models created from your recordings (AES-256 encrypted on AWS S3)
• Records of AI feature usage for account management

3. Where Your Data Is Stored

• Primary: Amazon Web Services (AWS) — us-east-2 (Ohio, USA)
• Backup/DR: AWS us-west-2 (Oregon, USA)
• CDN: AWS CloudFront (globally distributed)

All storage encrypted at rest: AES-256. All data in transit: TLS 1.2+.

4. Third-Party AI Data Processing

When you use AI-powered features, content is transmitted to third-party AI providers for processing. Data is transmitted, processed, and the result returned to our systems.

5. Data Retention Periods

5.1 Active Accounts

Data retained for the duration of the account and reasonable period after.

5.2 Inactive and Cancelled Accounts

• Free accounts with no activity: 2 years minimum, then eligible for deletion
• Paid accounts after subscription ends: 90 days, then deleted upon request
• User deletion requests: Processed within 30 days

5.3 Voice Clone Models

Retained while account is active. Permanently deleted from our systems and from Resemble AI within 30 days of account deletion or explicit request.

5.4 Anonymized and Aggregated Data

Anonymized data that cannot reasonably identify you may be retained indefinitely for product improvement and performance analysis.

6. How We Use Stored Data

6.1 Service Operations

• Providing, operating, and improving Platform features
• Security monitoring and fraud prevention
• Customer support and account management

6.2 Product Improvement

• Analyzing anonymized usage patterns
• Testing and quality assurance for AI output
• Performance optimization

6.3 What LifeScribe Does NOT Do With Your Data

• Sell your personal information, voice recordings, photos, or stories to third parties
• Use your personal content to train external AI models without explicit consent
• Share your content with advertisers or data brokers
• Create or sell behavioral profiles from your personal content to third parties

7. Your Data Rights

7.1 Access

View and export stories and account data through the app. Complete data export: hello@trylifescribe.com.

7.2 Correction

Update profile in Settings. Other corrections: hello@trylifescribe.com.

7.3 Deletion

Request via hello@trylifescribe.com or in-app Settings. Upon deletion:

• Personal profile, stories, voice recordings, and user content permanently deleted
• Voice clone models deleted from our systems and from Resemble AI
• Completed within 30 days
• Anonymized data not traceable to you may be retained

7.4 Data Portability

California and Florida residents: email hello@trylifescribe.com with subject "Data Portability Request."

8. Security

• AES-256 encryption at rest
• TLS 1.2+ encryption in transit
• AWS security group access controls
• Redis cache encryption in transit and at rest
• Access controls limiting data to authorized personnel

9. Third-Party Access

Access limited to: LifeScribe personnel for service operations; AI providers listed in Section 4; AWS for hosting; legal authorities per valid legal process.

We do not provide access to advertising networks, data brokers, or commercial analytics firms.

10. International Data Transfers

Primary storage: United States (AWS us-east-2). Backups: AWS us-west-2. AI processing by xAI and Resemble AI may occur outside your country of residence. By using the Platform, you consent to these transfers.
